King Animal Hospital West Campus

The expanded west campus at King Animal Hospital is taking shape with a dog boarding and quarantine facility and new site support buildings including hay storage barn, operations garage, manure facility, equine stables, and administration building.

Dog Boarding & Quarantine Facility

Of the additional facilities being delivered in the project, the Dog Boarding & Quarantine Facility embodies the same level of innovation and forward thinking demonstrated in KAH’s primary veterinary centre, and is a critical component of ensuring that Dog Tails’ vision for full-life compassionate care for animals and their ambitions for the site are achieved. The one-of-a-kind facility intentionally surpasses standard approaches to dog care, and re-imagines a home for the most challenging animals that offers outstanding care, comfort and dignity to end of life.

The facility will have room for 58 dogs, with 40 regular care and 18 quarantine units. Standard dog runs include individual outdoor spaces, heated flooring, communal indoor play and grooming spaces and access to a planned hydrotherapy pool room. The facility will also include a small animal dental clinic.

With room for over 50 rescue dog each each run includes individual outdoor space, complete with heated flooring for year round use. Communal indoor play areas, a hydrotherapy suite and grooming will keep the dogs healthy and happy.
