Daphne Terrace
An urban laneway is transformed into an urban oasis

Cumulus transformed a 2,000 sq. ft. downtown Toronto alleyway into an intimate dining terrace – a modern culinary escape in the heart of the financial district. The revitalized space introduces alfresco dining framed by lush landscaping and stylish lighting, while large glass panels create a seamless dialogue between interior and exterior. The result is a refined yet inviting retreat that brings new life to an overlooked urban space.

The expansive outdoor terrace is accessed through a striking Richmond Street entrance features 14-foot gates clad in hand-glazed terracotta tiles, with cascading greenery from integrated planters above.
Working with Dream Office REIT, Cumulus helped to reimagine an underutilized alleyway, embracing adaptive reuse in restoring vitality to an urban space with heritage value—enhancing both the district’s character and prestige.
