Hear from both clinical and design team leaders who are driving this project which will be Canada’s first purpose-built Seniors Emergency Centre.
Cumulus Principal Lisa Tobin will join UHN’s Dr. Tessa Ringer, Medical Director of Geriatric Emergency and Nazek Abdelmutti, Seniors Emergency Medicine Centre & Older Adult Strategy to discuss leading best practices in geriatric emergency medicine and evidence based design that is being integrated into Canada’s first Seniors Emergency Medicine Centre which is being constructed at Toronto Western Hospital.
The new Myrna Daniels Seniors Emergency Medicine Centre is being developed to address the needs of a rapidly aging urban population who have inherited an outdated system largely built with the needs of a younger demographic in mind. As the ‘front porch of healthcare’, emergency departments can provide high impact at a population level though an approach that centers the relatively more complex emergent care needs of seniors.
