3080 Yonge St. Giving Transit a Front Door
The drive for this project, located at one of Toronto’s busiest street corners – Yonge and Lawrence, was not only to upgrade an aging office complex and add rentable retail space, but also to boost the building’s presence at the street corner and better connect it with other existing facilities and infrastructure. The integration of the existing subway entrance into the new architectural expression and dramatic increase in scale at street level served to acknowledge the civic importance of the major street intersection. A complex building that sits astride multiple levels of aging TTC infrastructure, the project required an extensive engagement and collaboration with the TTC in planning the new integrated bus loop and subway entrance.
