Historic Provincial Investment Brings Safehaven’s New Bloor Street Redevelopment to Life
Yesterday Safehaven welcomed Premier Doug Ford and Minister Michael Parsa, who announced $21 million in provincial funding to support the construction of a new Safehaven facility. This transformative investment is a game-changer for children and adults living with medical complexities—and for their families.
A new building will provide state-of-the-art facilities, expanded respite and transitional care, putting into action innovative care models that place clients and families at the heart of every decision. More than a new home, the project represents a bold step toward redefining what’s possible in inclusive care and community living. This project will set a precedent for future projects across Canada.
Cumulus Architects + Medical Architecture are honoured to be part of the design team behind this important redevelopment of Safehaven’s Bloor Street site. Our work is guided by Safehaven’s vision: to create a welcoming, supportive, and human-centred environment where individuals with medical complexities can thrive.
We congratulate CEO Susan Bisaillon and the Safehaven team on this milestone moment and are grateful to the Government of Ontario for their leadership and support in making this vision a reality.
