Cumulus is leading the revitalization of the iconic Toronto Courthouse on University Avenue for Infrastructure Ontario and the Ministry of the Attorney General. Modernizing this iconic building’s infrastructure while conserving it’s architectural legacy are parallel project priorities. By scheduling phased renovations Canada’s busiest courthouse will remain operational during construction. This unique project blends our team’s intimate knowledge of courthouse function and planning with expertise in the conservation and rehabilitation of heritage buildings.

The courthouse is a listed property on the City of Toronto inventory of heritage properties and also Provincial Heritage Property. All work will be conducted in accordance with applicable Standards and Guidelines for Conservation of Provincial Heritage Properties, and to reflect the recommendations of the approved Heritage Structure Report for the building.
